Thank you to those who attended the biennial Illinois Bike Summit! We especially appreciate everyone who presented and assisted in our state’s most important bicycle-related conference. Nearly 200 people attend either in-person or virtually for the Illinois Bike Summit on October 12 and the professional training on October 13th.
The biennial Illinois Bike Summit, held on October 12-13 in Champaign, was the state’s most important bicycle-related conference. Professionals and advocates from communities of all sizes attended to learn, network, and collaborate. Sessions focused on increasing safety and accessibility for adults and children who ride a bike for recreation or transportation in Illinois.
Ride Illinois was pleased to be the host for this important, informative event in partnership with Champaign County Bikes.
The theme for the 2022 Illinois Bike Summit was: Pedaling Forward Together. Everyone with an interest in riding a bike and making biking safer and better in Illinois was encouraged to attend the 2022 Illinois Bike Summit.
The sessions and workshops on October 12 were attended in-person or online, though not all sessions were available to online attendees.
A separate, in-person professional training for planners, engineers, and municipal staff who aim to improve bike infrastructure and safety in their community took place on Thursday, October 13th.
